Donnell M. Rawlings (born December 6, 1968) is a funny American comedian, actor, and radio host. He is best known for his hilarious roles on the Comedy Central TV show Chappelle's Show. He also acted in the HBO drama series The Wire.

Early Life and Start

Donnell Rawlings was born in Washington, D.C.. He grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, with his mother. He went to T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria.

Before becoming famous, Rawlings served in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in places like South Korea and at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Donnell's Comedy Career

Becoming Famous on Chappelle's Show

Donnell Rawlings became very well-known for his many appearances on Chappelle's Show. This was a popular sketch comedy TV series. He even co-hosted the third season with Charlie Murphy.

One of his most famous lines from the show was "I'm rich, biaaaaatch!" This phrase was even played at the end of every episode. He also often added "Son!" to his sentences.

Rawlings used his knowledge of the Korean he learned in the Air Force in some sketches. For example, in "Player Hater's Ball" and "The Time Haters," he played a character named "Beautiful." This character was known for his unique hairstyle and fancy suits. He would playfully insult another character, "Mr. Roboto," in Korean. Donnell even played Beautiful again on Saturday Night Live.

He also created a series of short comedy videos called "From Ashy to Classy" on Heavy.com. In these clips, he played his character Ashy Larry from Chappelle's Show. Ashy Larry would pretend to be a fancy reporter named Ashford Lawrence. He would visit high-class places, often leading to funny situations.

Other Cool Projects

Besides Chappelle's Show, Donnell Rawlings has appeared in many other TV shows and movies. He acted in the HBO drama series The Corner and The Wire.

He also had a small role in the movie Spider-Man 2. You might have seen him in the music video for Jim Jones' song "We Fly High". For a while, he was a regular judge on The Ricki Lake Show.
