How to Play Dr. Mario (Single Player)
In the single-player game of Dr. Mario, your main goal is to get rid of viruses. These viruses are stuck in a bottle-shaped playing area. To defeat them, you need to line up vitamins of the same color.
There are three colors of vitamins: red, blue, and yellow. When you connect four or more pieces of the same color (either viruses or vitamin halves), they disappear. Your mission is to clear all the viruses from the screen before the bottle fills up to the top.
You can choose your starting level from 0 to 20. The higher the level, the more viruses you will need to clear. The game has over 40 levels in total, and the number of viruses can go up to 84. You can also pick the skill level and the background music (called "Fever" or "Chill").
Playing Against a Friend (2-Player VS)
In the 2-Player Vs. mode, you play against another person. The goal is to defeat your opponent by clearing all your viruses first. You can also win if your opponent's screen fills up.
When you clear viruses on your screen, special vitamin halves will fall onto your opponent's screen. These extra pieces can make it harder for them to play. Your opponent must wait for these extra vitamins to land before they can make their next move. This adds an exciting challenge to the game!
