Dregen's Music Journey

Starting with Backyard Babies

Dregen formed the rock band Backyard Babies in 1987. He started it with his friends Tobias Fischer, Peder Carlsson, and Johan Blomqvist. They were all from their hometown of Nässjö. Later, the band moved to Stockholm to find more success. They signed a record deal and released their first album, Diesel & Power, in 1994.

Joining The Hellacopters

Also in 1994, Dregen met singer and guitarist Nicke Andersson. Nicke was playing drums for another band at the time. Together, Dregen and Nicke formed a new band called The Hellacopters. This band became very popular in 1996 with their album ... to the Max!. This album even won a Swedish Grammis award. In 1997, they released another album called Payin' the Dues. The Hellacopters also went on tour with the famous band KISS. In the same year, Backyard Babies released their second album, Total 13, which also won a Grammis award.

Focusing on Backyard Babies

By the end of the 1990s, Dregen decided to leave The Hellacopters. He wanted to focus more on recording and performing with Backyard Babies.

In 2001, Backyard Babies released their album Making Enemies Is Good. They won another Grammis award for this album. The band toured all over the world many times. They even opened for the legendary band AC/DC during a tour in Europe. Since then, Backyard Babies have released several more albums. These include Stockholm Syndrome, People Like People Like People Like Us, and Backyard Babies. In 2010, they celebrated their anniversary with a special tour. After that, the band announced they would take a break.

Joining Michael Monroe's Band

In May 2011, Dregen joined Hanoi Rocks frontman Michael Monroe's band. Michael Monroe said that Dregen was a perfect fit for the band. He called Dregen a "killer guitarist" and a "brilliant showman." Monroe felt very happy that Dregen joined them.

In July 2011, Dregen began working on his first solo album. The album was simply called Dregen. It was released on September 25, 2013.
