Eagle Lake is a pretty lake located in the middle of Oakland County, Michigan. It covers about 19 acres, which is like 14 football fields! The deepest part of the lake goes down 20 feet, which is about as tall as a two-story building. You can find Eagle Lake in Waterford Township.

The lake is easy to find. It's west of Dixie Highway and east of Sashabaw Road. You'll also find it north of Walton Boulevard. Eagle Lake is connected to Woodhull Lake, which is located to its east.

How Eagle Lake Got Its Name

Eagle (who lived from 1817 to 1890) and his wife, Ellen Eagle (1815-1877), owned a very large farm. They had five children. Their farm was huge, about 249 acres, and it was right on the northern shore of this lake. Solomon was born in Ireland. So, the lake became known as Eagle Lake, named after their family.
