East Lynne is a small city located in eastern Cass County, Missouri. It is part of the larger Kansas City metropolitan area in the United States. In 2010, about 303 people lived there.

History of East Lynne

East Lynne was officially planned and laid out in 1871. The city got its name from a famous novel called East Lynne. This book was written by an author named Ellen Wood. A post office has been open in East Lynne since 1871, helping people send and receive mail for over 150 years.

Geography and Location

East Lynne is located about six miles east of Harrisonville. You can find it along Missouri Route K. The city is also situated near old railroad lines, including the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad and the St. Louis–San Francisco Railway.

Gunn City is another town located just three miles to the east of East Lynne. It is also along the Missouri–Kansas–Texas railroad line. A small stream called Camp Branch flows past the northern side of the community.
