Ebersecken was once a small town, or municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Willisau area, which is part of the canton of Lucerne. A canton is like a state or province in other countries. On January 1, 2020, Ebersecken joined with the nearby town of Altishofen. So now, it is no longer a separate municipality.

History of Ebersecken
Ebersecken is an old place! We know it was first mentioned in official papers way back in 1274. At that time, its name was written as Eberseche. A year later, in 1275, it was called Ebersegge.
Geography of Ebersecken
Ebersecken is located in a hilly area called the Willisauer Bergland. This means "Willisau highlands." The total area of Ebersecken is about 8.6 square kilometers (around 3.3 square miles).
Most of the land in Ebersecken is used for farming. About 79% of the area is farms or pastures. Forests cover about 17.2% of the land. The rest of the land, about 3.7%, has buildings or roads. A very tiny part (0.1%) is made up of rivers or other non-productive areas.
Ebersecken is not just one big town. It includes the main village of Ebersecken. There are also several smaller hamlets scattered around. Hamlets are very small settlements, even smaller than villages.
