Eduardo Hernández Saucedo (born January 19, 2001), known as Ed Maverick, is a Mexican singer, songwriter, and musician. He creates folk and alternative music. Ed Maverick started his music journey by sharing his songs online.

He became famous after releasing his first album, Mix pa' llorar en tu cuarto (2018). His song "Fuentes de Ortiz" from this album became a huge hit in Mexico. It was even certified "diamond" for selling many copies. In 2019, he signed with Universal Music México. His first album was re-released and reached number two on the Mexican Album Chart.

In 2021, he released his album Eduardo. He also worked with Spanish artist C. Tangana on the song "Párteme la Cara." This song was very popular in Spain. Ed Maverick won a Latin Grammy Award for his work as a music engineer on the album El Madrileño. He also won an Odeon Award. He has worked with other artists like Bratty and Señor Kino. Ed Maverick has been nominated for several MTV awards. By January 2025, he had sold over 1 million records worldwide.

Early Life and Music Start (2001–2017)

Eduardo Hernández Saucedo was born on January 19, 2001. His hometown is Delicias, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. During his high school years, he taught himself to play the guitar. The first song he learned was "Simple As This" by Jake Bugg.

He started writing his own songs in Delicias. By mid-2017, he was performing at parties and local events. He also began uploading song covers to his YouTube channel. Some Mexican artists like Dromedarios Mágicos and Juan Cirerol inspired him.

Rise to Fame (2018–2020)

An independent record label called Eidan Box Records invited him to record songs. He released his first album, Mix pa' llorar en tu cuarto, in 2018 through this label. The album included his song "Fuentes de Ortiz." This song quickly became very popular online. It was his first big commercial success.

In December 2018, Ed Maverick went to Mexico City. He met a manager named Chok Fermoso. Fermoso signed him to his talent agency. In March 2019, Ed Maverick signed a record deal with Universal Music México. His first album was re-released and became very successful. It reached number two on the Mexican Albums Chart.

"Fuentes de Ortiz" and "Acurrucar" were released as singles. A new music video for "Fuentes de Ortiz" was also made. By May 2019, Ed Maverick was one of the most popular Mexican artists on Spotify. He performed at big venues in Mexico City. He sold out his shows very quickly, setting a new record. His debut album received a gold record in Mexico. He also released his second album, Transiciones, in 2019.

In 2020, he released a live album called Ed Maverick en el Metropólitan. This album featured his hits and a new song with Bratty. "Fuentes de Ortiz" received a diamond record for selling over 300,000 copies. Other songs and albums also received platinum and gold records. He also released his first EP, Esto No Tiene Nada Que Ver con Eduardo.

Eduardo and Global Recognition (2021–present)

In 2021, Ed Maverick released his third studio album, Eduardo. Rolling Stone magazine listed it as one of the best Spanish-language albums of 2021.

That same year, he worked with C. Tangana on "Párteme la Cara." This song was part of the album El Madrileño. "Párteme la Cara" reached number three on the singles chart in Spain. It earned multiple certifications in Spain, Brazil, and Mexico. Ed Maverick was credited as an album engineer for El Madrileño. This work helped him win his first Latin Grammy Award. He won for Best Engineered Album at the 22nd Latin Grammy Awards.

In October 2021, Ed Maverick formed a band called Los Milagro. He was with Mexican musician Daniel Quién and producer Wet Baes. He left the band in May 2023.

In 2022, he won an Odeon Award in Spain. This award was for the Best Alternative Song of 2022, for "Párteme la Cara." He was the first Mexican artist to win this award. In April, he performed at the Coachella music festival for the first time. He also released some demo versions from his Eduardo album.

In July 2022, Ed Maverick received the Paco Martín Award in Spain. This award recognized him as a "Breakthrough Artist of Global Music." The judges praised his unique voice and ability to create emotion. That same month, he announced his first world tour. The "Tour Eduardo" included shows in Latin America, the United States, and Europe.
