Douglas Edward Alexander "Eddie" Gustafsson McIntosh, born on January 31, 1977, is a former professional footballer from Sweden. He was a goalkeeper, which means he was the player who tries to stop the ball from going into the goal.
Eddie started his football journey with IFK Stockholm in 1993. He then played for several professional teams in Norway and Austria, including Red Bull Salzburg. He retired from playing in 2014. Eddie also played for the Swedish national team ten times between 2000 and 2010.

Starting Out in Football
Eddie Gustafsson grew up in the United States before moving to Sweden. There, he began his football career with clubs like IFK Stockholm and IFK Norrköping. In 2002, he moved to Norway to play for Molde FK.
He was the main goalkeeper for Molde for three seasons. After his contract ended in 2004, he looked for a new team. He tried out for several clubs in Europe and the US. He then joined another Norwegian club, Hamarkameratene, but only stayed for one year. After the 2005 season, Eddie signed with FK Lyn.
Playing for Red Bull Salzburg
On January 8, 2009, Eddie Gustafsson signed a contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg, a big club in Austria.
On April 18, 2010, during an Austrian Bundesliga match, Eddie broke his leg. This happened when an opposing player tried to block his kick and accidentally hit his leg. Eddie had surgery that same night to fix his leg.
After his injury, Eddie worked hard to recover. He played his first game back in a friendly match on January 20, 2011. However, he didn't become the main goalkeeper again. He mostly played as a backup for other goalkeepers like Alexander Walke and Péter Gulácsi.
Eddie's very last game as a professional goalkeeper was for Salzburg on May 4, 2014. It was their final home match of the 2013-2014 Bundesliga season against SV Ried. He was replaced by Péter Gulácsi in the 78th minute. This moment marked his retirement from professional football.
Playing for His Country
Eddie Gustafsson played for the Swedish national team. His first game for Sweden was on January 31, 2000, in a 1–0 win against Denmark.
He was also a backup player for big tournaments like UEFA Euro 2004 and Euro 2008. In total, he played ten games for Sweden between 2000 and 2010.
