History of Edenvale
Edenvale was once its own small town. It got its name because the area was so beautiful and fertile, like a "Garden of Eden."
One of the oldest and most famous buildings here is Hayes Mansion. It was built in 1905 and is a great example of Mission Revival architecture.
Transportation and Old Roads
Important transportation routes run through Edenvale. The Union Pacific Railroad passes through, carrying trains like Amtrak's "Coast Starlight."
Also, the historic Monterey Road goes through the area. This road is also known as El Camino Real, which means "The Royal Road" in Spanish. It was a very important route in early California history.
Frontier Village Amusement Park
A popular part of Edenvale's recent history was Frontier Village. This was an amusement park that operated from 1961 to 1980. It was a fun place for families to visit.
After the park closed, most of the land was used to build new homes for people.
