Edino Nazareth Filho (born June 5, 1955), known as Edinho, is a famous Brazilian former football player and manager. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Edinho played as a strong central defender. He played for big clubs like Fluminense and Grêmio. He also played for the Brazilian national team. Today, he works as a sports commentator.

Edinho's International Football Journey
Edinho played for the Brazilian national team 45 times. This was between March 1977 and June 1986. He took part in three FIFA World Cup tournaments.
He played 3 matches in the 1978 FIFA World Cup in Argentina. He played once during the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He came in as a substitute against New Zealand. Edinho played all five of Brazil's matches during the 1986 FIFA World Cup. He was the team captain in that tournament and even scored one goal!
Edinho was also part of the team that finished fourth in football at the 1976 Summer Olympics. He won a gold medal in football at the 1975 Pan American Games.
Beach Soccer Success
After retiring from professional football, Edinho started playing beach soccer. He was very successful in this sport too! He was part of the winning Brazilian team for the first three Beach Soccer World Championships. These wins were in 1995, 1996, and 1997. He was even chosen as the best player in the 1996 tournament.
