Edurne García Almagro (born December 22, 1985), known simply as Edurne, is a Spanish singer, actress, and TV star. She first became famous in 2005 on the Spanish singing competition Operación Triunfo. She finished in sixth place.

In 2015, Edurne represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. She sang her song "Amanecer" and finished in 21st place.

Life and Career

A Star from a Young Age

Edurne was born in Madrid, the capital of Spain. She loved performing from an early age. When she was just 9 years old, she joined a children's music group called Trastos. She also had small acting roles in Spanish TV shows like Hospital Central and Ana y los 7.

In 2005, she auditioned for the popular TV show Operación Triunfo. The judges chose her to be on the show. She competed for 12 weeks and became a fan favorite, finishing in sixth place.

Music and Television Star

After Operación Triunfo, Edurne signed a record deal with Sony BMG Spain. In 2006, she released her first album, Edurne. It included the hit single "Despierta", which was very popular in Spain.

She released her second album, Ilusión, in 2007. A year later, her third album, Première, came out. This album had Spanish versions of famous songs from the musical Grease. This was because Edurne was starring as the character Sandy in a stage version of the musical.

In 2010, Edurne released her fourth album, Nueva Piel. That same year, she competed on ¡Más Que Baile!, a Spanish dancing show. She showed off her dancing skills and finished in second place.

Her fifth album, Climax, was released in 2013. That year, she also won the celebrity talent show Tu Cara Me Suena. On the show, she impersonated other famous singers. Her performance as Christina Aguilera singing "Hurt" won her the final.

Eurovision and Beyond

In 2015, Edurne was chosen to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. She performed the powerful song "Amanecer" in Vienna, Austria. After Eurovision, she released her sixth album, Adrenalina.

Starting in 2015, Edurne became a judge on Got Talent España, the Spanish version of the popular Got Talent show. She helped discover new talented performers in Spain.

In 2019, she released a new single called "Demasiado Tarde" with singer Carlos Baute. She also joined the cast of the TV show Servir y Proteger. In 2020, she released her seventh album, Catarsis.

In 2025, Edurne became a coach on the tenth season of La Voz Kids. She helps young singers develop their talent on the show.

Personal Life

Since 2010, Edurne has been in a relationship with the famous Spanish soccer goalkeeper David de Gea. They have a daughter named Yanay, who was born on March 4, 2021. The couple got married on July 1, 2023, in Menorca.
