Edward Tervino Thomas was born in Thomasville, Georgia, on September 27, 1974. He went to Charles Lincoln Harper High School in Atlanta, Georgia.
College Football Career
Edward Thomas was a key player for the Georgia Southern Eagles. He played for four years, from 1993 to 1996. During his junior year, he was recognized for his skills. He earned All-Southern Conference honors. He was also named a second-team GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-American. This means he was great at football and in his studies.
Senior Year Success
In his senior year (1996), Edward had an amazing season. He made 130 tackles and 15 sacks. A tackle is when a player stops an opponent with the ball. A sack is when a defensive player tackles the quarterback. Because of his great performance, he was named a first-team All-American. He also received first-team All-Southern Conference recognition. Edward studied logistics and intermodal transportation at Georgia Southern.
Professional Football Journey
