The first school in Egeland opened in 1907. For many years, it was part of the Bisbee School District. In 1980, it became part of the Bisbee-Egeland School District.
The school in Egeland closed in 2002. Students then went to school in Bisbee. The Towner County Historical Society now takes care of the old Egeland School building. In 2008, the Bisbee-Egeland district joined with the Cando School District. This created the new North Star district.
