Elgin is a city in Wabasha County, Minnesota, United States. It is located along Minnesota State Highway 42. In 2020, about 1,115 people lived there. Elgin is known for its fun yearly festival called Elgin Cheese Days.

Elgin started as a city in 1878. This happened when the railroad lines were built to reach that area. The city got its name from a place called Elgin in Scotland.
