Elgin is a city located in the northeastern part of Comanche County, Oklahoma, in the United States. It's part of the larger Lawton area. In 2020, about 3,656 people lived here, which is a big increase from 2,156 people in 2010. Elgin is also home to the Fort Sill National Cemetery.

Elgin's Early Days: A Railroad Town
Elgin started to grow between 1901 and 1903. This happened when the Oklahoma City and Western Railroad (OCWR) built a new train line. The line connected Chickasha, Oklahoma to Lawton, Oklahoma.
A post office opened in April 1902. It was first called "Ceegee." This name came from Charles G. Jones, who was the president of the railroad company. He was also helping to develop the new town. However, the railroad managers didn't like the name. So, in July 1902, the name was changed to Elgin.

Elgin is located in Comanche County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of about 3.72 square miles (9.63 square kilometers). All of this area is land.

- Water and Waste: The city gets its water from the Rush Springs aquifer using four wells. Elgin also manages a sewage lagoon. Both water and sewage billing are combined on one bill. Garbage collection is handled by the Multiple Community Services Authority, and this cost is also on the water bill.
- Electricity: Electric service in Elgin is provided by American Electric Power Public Service Company of Oklahoma.
- Natural Gas: Natural gas service is provided by Arkla Gas.
