Elizabeth Michael (born April 16, 1995), also known as Lulu, is a talented Tanzanian actress. She started her acting journey at a very young age.
In 2013, she won the Zanzibar International Film Festival award for Best Actress. This was for her role in the movie "Woman Of Principles". She also won the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for Best Movie Eastern Africa. In 2017, Africa Youth Awards recognized her as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans. She faced a difficult legal challenge in 2017. She was later pardoned by President John Pombe Magufuli in 2018. After serving some time, she was released to do community service. She successfully completed her community service in November 2018.

Early Life and Education
Elizabeth Michael was born and grew up in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Her father is Michael Kimemeta, and her mother is Lucrecia Kalugira.
She went to Remnant Academy for her primary school education. For secondary school, she attended Perfect Vision High School and St Mary's High School. Later, she joined Tanzania Public Service College. There, she earned a diploma in Human Resource Management.
Career Journey
Becoming an Actress
Elizabeth Michael began acting when she was just five years old. Actor Mahsein Awadh, known as Dr Cheni, discovered her talent. He took her to Kaole Sanaa Group. She appeared in many television soap operas. Her first role was Nemu in Dira. She also starred in popular shows like Zizimo, Baragumu, Gharika, Taswira, and Demokrasia in the 2000s. She became known by her stage name, Lulu. In 2005, she made her first movie appearance in the action film Misukosuko.
Michael has worked on many big projects. In 2009, she was part of the Wahapahapa Radio Drama. This project was produced by Media for Development International Tanzania. She played Mainda in the story. It taught about how important it is for parents and children to talk. This helps young people during the difficult time of adolescence. Jordan Riber directed the project. Her other movies include Family Tears, Ripple of Tears, Oxygen, House Boy, and Woman Of Principles. She has acted in over 30 films.
In August 2013, she launched her first movie as a producer, called Foolish Age. The launch happened in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The movie was shown at the 2014 Zanzibar International Film Festival. Foolish Age was nominated for Favourite Movie at the 2014 Tanzania People's Choice Awards. Elizabeth Michael won Favourite Actress for her role in the film.
In 2015, she released her second movie as a producer, Mapenzi Ya Mungu (God's love). She also played the main character in this film. The movie was shown at the 2015 Zanzibar International Film Festival. It won the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for Best Movie Eastern Africa.
In July 2016, she launched another movie called Ni Noma. She produced it and played the main role. The movie was sold through a mobile app called ProinBox.
Personal Life
In October 2018, Elizabeth Michael got engaged to Francis Ciza, also known as Dj Majizzo. He owns EFM Radio and TVE. They got married on February 17, 2021. In July 2021, they welcomed their son, Genesis. In December 2022, they had a daughter named Gracious.

- In 2013, she became an official ambassador for the Dar Es Salaam Film Festival DFF. Her film, Foolish Age, was also shown there.
- In February 2014, she joined Airtel Tanzania. She became the host of the Airtel Yatosha TV Show.
- In 2015, she signed a deal with Paisha Tanzania. She became the brand ambassador for their mobile app. This app helps with online businesses.
- In 2016, Hengan Baby Products and Sanitary Co. Ltd. (Tanzania) chose her. She became the ambassador for Freestyle pads.
- In October 2017, Azam Media Tanzania named her an official ambassador. This was for their Sinema Zetu International Film Festival (SZIFF).

Overcoming Challenges and Community Service
In November 2017, Elizabeth Michael faced a legal challenge. She was found responsible for an event that led to the death of actor Steven Kanumba in 2012. At the time, she was 17 years old. She was given a two-year sentence.
She was arrested and stayed in custody for about a year while the investigation happened. Later, the charges were changed. In January 2013, she was allowed to go home on bail.
During her testimony, she said she was the last person with Kanumba. She claimed he started breathing fast and collapsed while they were together. She said she left the area, not knowing what had happened. She was later arrested.
On April 26, 2018, President John Pombe Magufuli pardoned some prisoners. Elizabeth Michael was among them, and her sentence was reduced. In May 2018, she was released from prison. She was allowed to complete her remaining time by doing community service. This was because she showed good behavior in prison. On November 12, 2018, she successfully finished her community service.
Helping Others
On January 23, 2019, Elizabeth Michael started a campaign called “Save My Valentine”. The goal was to raise money to help people with special needs. Through this campaign, she sold some of her own clothes. The money collected was given to orphanage centers in Iringa, Tanzania, during Valentine’s Day.
