Elm Springs is a city in Benton and Washington Counties, Arkansas, United States. It is located just west of Springdale. Elm Springs is part of the larger Northwest Arkansas area. The city has been growing quickly, with its population increasing a lot between 2000 and 2010.

History of Elm Springs
The first people to settle permanently in Elm Springs arrived in the 1840s. The town got its name from a large natural spring located near where the first settlers built their homes.
Elm Springs and the Civil War
During the American Civil War, Elm Springs was an important meeting spot. In 1861, new soldiers joining the Confederate army gathered here before a big battle called the Battle of Pea Ridge. By 1862, it was a place where Confederate groups from Arkansas and Missouri would meet up. Two smaller fights also happened in Elm Springs on April 26 and July 30, 1863.
Geography of Elm Springs
Elm Springs is nestled between the Boston Mountains and the Springfield Plateau. These areas are part of the larger Ozark Mountains. The community first grew around a mill that was powered by a natural spring. Even after the mill was destroyed during the Civil War, the town continued to thrive.
The city covers a total area of about 5.79 square miles (15.0 square kilometers).

Elm Springs has seen a lot of growth over the years. In 2020, there were 2,361 people living in the city. This shows a big increase from earlier years. For example, the population grew by 47% between 2000 and 2010.
People from many different backgrounds live in Elm Springs. The city is home to a mix of families and individuals.

All students in Elm Springs attend schools within the Springdale Public Schools district.
Most of Elm Springs is zoned for Shaw Elementary School. Some areas in the eastern part of the city go to Bernice Young Elementary School. After elementary school, all students attend Hellstern Middle School, Central Junior High School, and then Har-Ber High School.

Public Transportation
As of 2023, Elm Springs does not have regular bus routes. However, Ozark Regional Transit offers a service where you can call and arrange for a ride. This is called "demand-response service." If you need to travel between cities, the closest bus service is in Fayetteville.

- Lake Elmdale is a great spot for fishing and watching birds. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission built and takes care of this lake.
- Steele-Stevens Heritage Park is located around the city's famous spring. This spring is what the city is named after!
