Elmore is a small town located in Elmore County, Alabama, in the United States. It's known as the "Town of Light."
The town was first officially recognized in 1906. However, this recognition didn't last, and it wasn't until 1997 that Elmore became an official town again. In 2020, about 1,280 people lived there. Elmore is part of the larger Montgomery area.

Where is Elmore Located?
Elmore is in the western part of Elmore County. It is next to the town of Millbrook on its west side and Coosada to the south.
Alabama State Route 14 goes through Elmore. This road can take you about 7 miles (11 km) east to Wetumpka or about 10 miles (16 km) west to Prattville. The state capital, Montgomery, is about 15 miles (24 km) south of Elmore.
The town of Elmore covers a total area of about 6.4 square miles (16.6 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.

In 1880, Elmore was listed as a small community called Elmore Station, even though it wasn't officially a town yet.

The population of Elmore has grown quite a bit over the years. In 2000, only 199 people lived there. By 2010, the population had jumped to 1,262 people. The most recent count in 2020 showed 1,280 residents.
