Where is Elzevir Lake Located?
This lake is about 0.9 kilometres (0.6 mi) long and 0.3 kilometres (0.2 mi) wide. It sits at an elevation of about 254 metres (833 ft) above sea level. You can find it about 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of a community called Flinton.
How Water Flows Through Elzevir Lake
Water flows into Elzevir Lake mainly from a stream called Elzevir Creek. This creek starts from another unnamed lake to the northwest. Elzevir Creek is also the main way water leaves Elzevir Lake, flowing out from the southeast side into another unnamed lake.
The water from Elzevir Creek then continues its journey. It flows into the Skootamatta River, which then joins the Moira River. Finally, the Moira River empties into the Bay of Quinte on Lake Ontario near the city of Belleville. This whole path is called a drainage basin, which is like a giant funnel that collects all the water in an area and directs it to a larger body of water.
