Emma Wu's Career Journey
Starting in TV and Music
In November 2005, Emma Wu joined a TV show called Blackie's Teenage Club. This show was looking for new talent for Channel [V]. After a few tryouts, Emma became part of Hei Se Hui Mei Mei. This was a nine-member Taiwanese girl group formed around 2006.
The group's name was changed to Hey Girl later on. This happened after they signed with a new music label. They released their first album in August 2008.
In April 2009, there were rumors that Emma might leave her agency. The director said she probably wouldn't renew her contract. But he also said she would still do group activities. This was because the group's music contract was separate. However, Emma was not seen promoting their album. On May 6, 2009, it was confirmed that she had left both Hey Girl and Channel V.
Becoming an Actress
In 2007, Emma started her acting career. She appeared in a TV drama called Brown Sugar Macchiato. This show was mainly an introduction for the groups Hey Girl and Lollipop F. The series finished in October 2007. An official soundtrack was also released.

After a two-year break, Emma signed with Polyface Entertainment Media Group in 2011. She returned to TV in I, My Brother. Later that year, she was cast in the TV show Painted Skin (TV series). This role helped Emma focus more on the Chinese entertainment market.
In 2012, Emma made her big screen debut in the movie series The Four. In February 2013, she joined the Korean reality show We Got Married. On the show, she was a "virtual wife" to Ok Taecyeon from the K-pop group 2PM. Emma said she was very thankful for this experience. She felt it was a special gift.
