Later, in 1886, the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad built another line. This line helped connect Enterprise to grain elevators and flour mills in Salina. Today, a part of this track is still used by the Abilene and Smoky Valley. This is a special heritage railroad that offers fun train rides.
In 1887, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway also built a line through Enterprise. This railroad later joined with another company in 1996. It is now called the BNSF Railway. But many local people still call it the "Santa Fe."
