Entre Lagos is a small town in Chile. It's located in the Los Lagos Region, specifically in the Osorno Province. This town is the main community in the Puyehue area.
Entre Lagos is about 46 kilometers (28 miles) east of a bigger city called Osorno. It sits right where the Pilmaiquén River flows into the western part of Puyehue Lake. It's the only town of its size right on this lake.
What's in a Name?
The name "Entre Lagos" means "between lakes" in Spanish. This name perfectly describes its location! The town is nestled between two beautiful lakes: Puyehue Lake to the north and Rupanco Lake to the south.
A Glimpse into History
Before it was called Entre Lagos, the town had a different name: "El Desague." In the past, there was a ferry service that traveled across Puyehue Lake. This ferry connected the town to the Termas de Puyehue resort area. Imagine taking a boat across the lake to relax in warm, natural springs!
