Ergisch is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Leuk area of the canton of Valais in Switzerland. It's a quiet place with a rich history and beautiful natural surroundings.

Ergisch's Past: A Brief History
Ergisch was first mentioned in old records way back in 1203. Back then, it was known by the name Mons de Argessa. This shows that people have lived in this area for a very long time!
Where is Ergisch? Geography and Land Use
Ergisch covers an area of about 29.8 square kilometers (about 11.5 square miles). A good part of this land, about 20.9%, is used for farming. Forests cover a large section, about 38.0% of the area.
Only a small portion, 0.9%, has buildings or roads. The biggest part, 40.1%, is made up of land that isn't used for farming or building, like mountains or rocky areas.
The town is located in the Leuk district. It sits at an elevation of 1090 meters (about 3,576 feet) on the left side of the Rhone valley. It's also at the entrance to the Turtmann valley, which is a lovely spot.
Ergisch's Coat of Arms: What it Means
The official blazon (description) of Ergisch's coat of arms is quite specific. It shows a shield divided into two parts. The top part is blue and has three six-pointed stars in silver. The bottom part is red and features a silver Fleur-de-lis (a stylized lily) and a silver double cross. These symbols represent the town's history and identity.
