Erigeron eatonii, also called Eaton's fleabane, is a beautiful flowering plant. It is a type of daisy found in North America. This plant is known for its pretty flowers that look a lot like small daisies.

Discovering Eaton's Fleabane

Eaton's fleabane grows naturally in many parts of the western United States. You can find it in different places like grassy fields, bushy areas, and forests. It grows in almost all states west of the Rocky Mountains. However, it is not found in every single part of this region, for example, it's missing from southern California and most of New Mexico.

What Does Eaton's Fleabane Look Like?

This plant is usually small, growing between 4 and 30 centimeters tall (about 1.6 to 12 inches). It has hairy stems that can stand straight up or droop a little. The leaves are narrow and shaped like a spear, with three veins and rough hairs. These leaves grow from the bottom of the plant and also along the stems.

At the top of each stem, you'll find one or more flower heads. Each flower head can be up to 2.5 centimeters (1 inch) wide. The center of the flower is full of tiny yellow flowers called disc florets. Around the edge, there are short, bright white petals, which are actually tiny flowers called ray florets. Sometimes, these white petals have a hint of blue or pink on their undersides.

Different Kinds of Eaton's Fleabane

Just like there are different breeds of dogs, there are different types of plants within a species. These are called varieties. Eaton's fleabane has several varieties, and they are found in different areas:
