Erina (pronounced eh-ruh-nuh) is a busy suburb in the Central Coast area of New South Wales, Australia. It's known as the biggest business centre on the Central Coast. Erina is also home to Erina Fair, which is the largest single-level shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area.
You can find Erina about halfway between the city of Gosford and the Pacific Ocean at Terrigal. Many important businesses are located here, especially along the Central Coast Highway, Karalta Road, and Barralong Road.
Erina is also a place for sports! It's home to the Erina Eagles rugby league team. They play in the Central Coast Premiership. The 2017 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships were even held at the Erina Ice Arena, which is inside Erina Fair.

What is the History of Erina?
The name Erina comes from an Aboriginal word. It means "a place where the initiation ceremony was held." The Garingai Aboriginal tribe originally lived in the Erina area. In 1888, Erina was divided into smaller blocks, and its streets were planned out.

Erina Fair is a very large shopping centre. It's located on Terrigal Drive, right in the middle of the suburb. It's famous for being the biggest single-level shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere.

You can also find a few smaller shopping centres on Karalta Road. These include Fountain Plaza, Elizabeth Court, and Karalta Plaza.

In 2016, a survey called the Census counted 4,774 people living in Erina. Most people, about 69.9%, were born in Australia. The next largest group, 8.1%, were born in England.
Most people in Erina, about 85.0%, speak only English at home. When it comes to religion, the most common answers were Catholic (24.3%), Anglican (22.5%), and No Religion (21.5%).
