History of Ermensee
Ermensee has a long history! It was first written about in the year 1036. Back then, its name was Armense.
Geography of Ermensee
Ermensee is found in the beautiful Seetal valley. This valley is nestled between two lakes: Lake Hallwil and Lake Baldegg. The town is also located on the main road that connects Lenzburg and Emmenbrücke.
The municipality covers an area of about 5.7 square kilometers (about 2.2 square miles). A large part of this land, almost 59%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 35% of the area. The remaining land is used for buildings and roads (about 5.4%), or it's made up of rivers and other natural features (about 0.4%).
