Essexville is a city in Bay County, Michigan, a state in the United States. In 2020, about 3,379 people lived there. The city is located right next to the Saginaw River. It's also part of a larger area that includes the cities of Saginaw, Midland, and Bay City.

History of Essexville
Essexville gets its name from Ransom P. Essex, an early settler in the area. The city's land was first officially mapped out, or platted, in 1867.
The Essexville Post Office opened its doors on February 27, 1871. It briefly closed in 1879 but reopened soon after.
Essexville officially became a village in 1883. This meant it had its own local government. Later, in 1934, it became a full city.
Geography and Location
Essexville covers a total area of about 1.41 square miles (3.63 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, about 1.30 square miles (3.35 square kilometers). The rest, about 0.11 square miles (0.28 square kilometers), is water.
The city is located directly on the Saginaw River. This river connects to Lake Huron, which is one of the Great Lakes.

Essexville has a few interesting spots:
- Heritage House: This is an old two-story house that has been kept just as it was. It shows what a typical home in the Midwest looked like a long time ago. You can visit it to see how people used to live.
- Hampton Square Mall: This was the very first shopping mall in the Bay City area. It was located just outside of Essexville. The mall closed down in 2010.
