Eulonia is a small, quiet community in McIntosh County, Georgia, in the United States. It's not a city with its own government, but it's recognized as a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means the government counts the people living there for official records.

Eulonia is located in a flat, coastal area of Georgia known as the "Low Country." It sits between the bigger cities of Savannah and Brunswick. A major highway, Interstate 95, is also very close by. According to the 2020 census, about 351 people call Eulonia home.

Where is Eulonia Located?

Eulonia is right in the middle of McIntosh County. The main part of the community is found where two roads, U.S. Route 17 and Georgia State Route 99, cross paths. The older, historic part of Eulonia is just a little north of this crossroads.

  • If you travel south on US 17, you'll reach Darien, the county seat, in about 11 miles.
  • Going north on US 17 will take you to Riceboro, about 15 miles away.
  • State Route 99 heads east for about 4 miles to Crescent.
  • Heading west on State Route 99 for about 1 mile will bring you to Interstate 95 at Exit 58.
  • Interstate 95 forms the western edge of Eulonia. From there, you can go north about 52 miles to Savannah or south about 28 miles to Brunswick.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that the Eulonia CDP covers about 3.3 square miles of land. A small part of this area, about 0.05 square miles, is water. The Sapelo River, which is affected by ocean tides, flows along the northern border of Eulonia. This river eventually reaches the Atlantic Ocean about 15 miles to the east.
