Eythora Elisabet Thorsdottir (born August 10, 1998) is a talented Dutch artistic gymnast. She is known for her graceful routines. Eythora competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics and finished ninth in the all-around competition. She has won several medals at the European Championships. These include a silver medal on the balance beam and a bronze medal on the floor exercise in 2017. She also earned a silver medal for her floor exercise in 2019. In 2023, she helped the Dutch team win a bronze medal.

About Eythora
Eythora was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on August 10, 1998. Her parents moved to the Netherlands from Iceland for their jobs. This means Eythora is a citizen of both countries. She started learning gymnastics when she was six years old.
Junior Gymnastics Career
Eythora first competed internationally in 2012 at the Austrian Team Open. Her team from the Netherlands won a silver medal there. Later that year, she competed at the European Championships in Brussels. She placed tenth in the all-around. She also finished eighth on the balance beam. Her Dutch team placed sixth overall. At the Dutch Championships, she won silver medals in the all-around and on beam. She also won a gold medal on the floor exercise.
In 2013, Eythora took part in the 2013 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival. Her team finished ninth. Individually, she placed ninth in the all-around. She also won a silver medal on the balance beam.
Senior Gymnastics Career
2014: Overcoming Injury
Eythora had a tough year in 2014 because of a back injury. She missed most of the gymnastics season. In November, she returned to compete at the Élite Gym Massilia. She finished fourth in the all-around competition. She also helped her club team, SV Pax Haarlemmermeer, win a bronze medal at the Dutch Team Championships.
2015: First World Championships
Eythora started 2015 by winning a gold medal at the Sidijk Tournament. She then won gold on the floor exercise at the Ljubljana World Challenge Cup. This helped her get ready for the European Championships. There, she finished twelfth in the all-around final.
Later, Eythora competed at the World Championships in Glasgow. Her team made history by finishing eighth. This meant the Netherlands qualified a full team for the 2016 Summer Olympics for the first time since 1976. Eythora qualified for the balance beam final. However, she had a fall and finished eighth.
2016: Olympic Debut
Eythora had a great start to 2016. She won a bronze medal on the balance beam at the International Gymnix in Canada. She also won gold medals in almost every event at the IAG SportEvent. In June, she became the Dutch all-around champion.
Eythora proudly represented the Netherlands at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Her team reached the team final and finished seventh. Eythora also made it to the individual all-around final. She placed an impressive ninth in the world. After the Olympics, she won a silver medal in the all-around at the Arthur Gander Memorial. She also helped her club win the Dutch Team Championships.
2017: European Medals
Eythora began 2017 with success at the Reykjavik International Games. She won gold medals in the all-around and on balance beam. She also earned silver on vault and floor, and bronze on uneven bars. At the European Championships, she had a fantastic performance. She won a silver medal on the balance beam. She also earned a bronze medal on the floor exercise. Later, she competed at the World Championships.
2018: Injury Setback
In 2018, Eythora faced another injury challenge. She broke her hand, which meant she had to miss the European and World Championships. She returned to competition in November at the Arthur Gander Memorial. She won a bronze medal there.
2019: More European Success
In March 2019, Eythora helped the Netherlands team win a bronze medal at the DTB Team Challenge. She also won an individual bronze medal in the all-around. In April, she competed at the European Championships. She won a silver medal on the floor exercise.
In August, Eythora helped the Dutch team win silver at the Heerenveen Friendly. She also placed second in the all-around. The next month, her team won gold at the Second Heerenveen Friendly. Eythora finished third in the all-around. She then competed at the World Championships in Stuttgart. Her team finished eighth, which qualified them for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
2021: Tokyo Olympics
Eythora represented the Netherlands at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The Dutch team finished eleventh in the qualification round. Eythora was a reserve for the all-around final.
2022: Back to Worlds
In 2022, Eythora finished fifth on the floor exercise at the Dutch Championships. She then competed with the Dutch team at the World Championships. The team finished ninth in the qualification round. After the World Championships, she placed fourth in the all-around at the Arthur Gander Memorial.
2023: Team Bronze
Eythora started 2023 at the Baku World Cup. She finished sixth on the uneven bars. She then competed at the European Championships. Her team, including Vera van Pol, Sanna Veerman, Naomi Visser, and Sanne Wevers, won a bronze medal! This was a great achievement for the Dutch team.
