How Faber Drive Started
In 2005, the band first released a short album with three songs. Back then, they were just called 'Faber'. But they had to change their name to Faber Drive. This was because another big company had the same name.
Also in 2005, Faber Drive won a band competition. It was called Fox Seeds and was held by a radio station in Vancouver. After this, Chad Kroeger from the famous band Nickelback discovered them. He signed them to his record label, 604 Records.
Faber Drive released their first full album on May 1, 2007. It was called Seven Second Surgery. They released four songs from this album as singles.
Faber Drive on TV
Two of Faber Drive's songs were used in a TV show. The songs "Killin' Me" and "Summer Fades to Fall" appeared in the American drama series Kyle XY. The band even appeared on the show themselves. They played a concert in an episode that aired in January 2009.

In 2008, some band members changed. Ray Bull left and Calvin "Poncho" Lechner joined as the new drummer. Later, guitarist David Hinsley also left. Zubin Thakkar played guitar for their concerts for a few months.
Faber Drive was nominated for a Juno Award in 2008. They were recognized as the New Group of the Year.

Around this time, new members joined the band. Jordan Pritchett became the guitarist. He is the son of country singer Aaron Pritchett. Andrew Stricko joined as the new drummer.
