Fairfax is a small city in Renville County, Minnesota, United States. In 2020, about 1,250 people lived there. It's known for its friendly motto: "A Good Place To Live."
Fairfax is located near Fort Ridgely State Park, a great place for outdoor activities. Two main roads, Minnesota State Highways 4 and 19, pass through the city.

History of Fairfax
Fairfax was officially planned and laid out in 1882. It was named after Fairfax County, Virginia, a place far away. A post office opened in Fairfax the same year it was founded. The town officially became a city in 1888.
