It's called a census-designated place (CDP) because it's an area defined by the government for counting people, but it's not an official town or city. In 2020, about 9,306 people lived there. Fallston is known for being a mix of farms and suburban neighborhoods.

Where is Fallston Located?
Fallston is in the western part of Harford County. It's located at 39°31′55″N 76°26′17″W / 39.53194°N 76.43806°W. To the south, it shares a border with Baltimore County. The Little Gunpowder Falls river forms this southern border. To the northeast, Fallston borders another community called Bel Air North.
Main Roads and Travel
Maryland Route 152 is the most important road in Fallston. It goes southeast about 6 miles (10 km) to Interstate 95. It also goes northwest about 7 miles (11 km) towards Jarrettsville.
The original part of Fallston is found on Old Fallston Road, just southwest of MD 152. The community stretches northwest along MD 152. Another important road, Maryland Route 165, goes through the west side of Fallston. It crosses MD 152 at a place called Upper Crossroads. MD 165 goes north to Jarrettsville and south to Baldwin in Baltimore County.
Fallston is about 30 miles (48 km) northeast of downtown Baltimore. You can get there by taking MD 152 and then I-95.
Land and Water
The United States Census Bureau says that Fallston covers a total area of about 14 square miles (36.3 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a very small part, about 0.03 square miles (0.07 square kilometers), is water.
