Falmouth is a city in Pendleton County, Kentucky, in the United States. It is the main city and the county seat of Pendleton County. In 2010, about 2,169 people lived there. Falmouth is located where the South and Main forks of the Licking River meet. It is also home to the Kincaid Regional Theatre.

Geography of Falmouth
Falmouth covers an area of about 1.3 square miles (3.4 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
History of Falmouth
People might have started living in the Falmouth area as early as 1780. The town was officially planned by John Waller in 1793. He named the new settlement after his hometown, Falmouth, Virginia. Falmouth became an official city in 1856.
Natural Disasters in Falmouth
Falmouth has faced several big natural disasters. In 1964, the Licking River flooded badly. The water reached 47 feet high, which was 19 feet above the normal flood level. Much of the town was covered in water.
On April 23, 1968, a very strong tornado hit Falmouth. It was an F4 tornado, possibly even an F5. This tornado destroyed many homes and sadly, four people lost their lives.
Another major flood happened on March 2, 1997. The Licking River rose to 52 feet, which was 24 feet above flood stage. About 80% of Falmouth was under several feet of water. Many homes and businesses were damaged, and five residents died.
Historic Homes in Falmouth
Two important historic homes in Falmouth are Charity's House and Elzey Hughes House. Both of these houses were part of a neighborhood called "Happy Hollow," which was historically African-American. They are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Falmouth is a place where arts and culture are important.
Kincaid Regional Theatre
The Kincaid Regional Theatre, also known as KRT, has been in Falmouth since 1983. This theatre is known for its excellent musical performances. They often hire talented people from the Cincinnati area and other places. KRT also helps the community by offering theatre workshops for children and teens. They work with local schools to encourage the arts. KRT used to perform at the old Falmouth High School and the Griffin Centre Amphitheatre. Now, they perform at Stonewood Gardens in Falmouth.
Kentucky Wool Festival
Falmouth hosts one of Kentucky's biggest fall events, the Kentucky Wool Festival. This festival happens every year during the first full weekend of October. It takes place next to Kincaid Lake State Park. The festival celebrates wool products, crafts, and food. It also helps local groups raise money and offers fun for all ages. You can see old traditions and farm animal shows that highlight the history of Pendleton County and Kentucky. Because of this festival, the sheep has become the unofficial mascot of the local community.

- John Merritt is famous as one of college football's most successful coaches.
- Phillip Allen Sharp won the Nobel Prize. His work greatly changed how scientists understand the structure of genes. He is also from Falmouth.
