Fascination Records was a record label based in the United Kingdom. It was part of the huge Universal Music Group and worked closely with Polydor Records. The label started in the spring of 2006. It was managed by Peter Loraine, who used to be the editor of TOTP Magazine.
In 2010, Peter Loraine announced he was starting a new company called Fascination Management. Fascination Records continued to release music until 2014.

Popular Artists
Girls Aloud was a very successful girl group in the UK. They were the first all-girl group to have 20 songs in a row reach the Top 10 charts. All their albums sold enough copies to be certified platinum, and they had four number one hit songs!
Girls Aloud joined Fascination Records for their greatest hits album, The Sound of Girls Aloud. This album sold over a million copies in the UK. Songs like "Something Kinda Ooooh" and "I Think We're Alone Now" were big hits. They also had a number one song called "Walk This Way" with Sugababes. Their album Tangled Up came out in 2007. It included popular songs like "Call the Shots" and "Can't Speak French".
Their album Out of Control was released in 2008. The song "The Promise" from this album went straight to number one in the UK. This made it their 19th Top 10 hit and their fourth number one song. "The Loving Kind" became their 20th Top 10 hit. Later, the group released a new song, "Something New", for Children in Need. They also released another greatest hits album called "Ten".

Cheryl Cole was a member of Girls Aloud. While the group was taking a break, she released her first solo album, 3 Words, in 2009. It was a huge success, selling over a million copies. Her song "Fight For This Love" was a big hit in Europe.
In 2010, Cheryl released her second album, Messy Little Raindrops. This album featured the number one song "Promise This". Her third album, A Million Lights, came out in 2012. The first song from this album, "Call My Name", quickly reached number one.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor became famous as the singer on Spiller's song "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)". She then had many Top 10 hit songs on her own. Her album Read My Lips was very popular in the UK and other countries.
After a break to start a family, Sophie released her third album, Trip the Light Fantastic, in 2007. The first song from it, "Catch You", became her seventh Top 10 hit. Her song "Heartbreak" with the producers Freemasons also made it into the UK Top 20.
Alphabeat is a Danish band that had three UK Top 20 hits in 2008. They signed a new deal with Fascination Records in 2009. Their second album, The Spell, produced two UK Top 30 hits: "The Spell" and "Hole in My Heart".
The British music duo Bananarama released their tenth album, Viva, through Fascination Records in 2009. It included new songs and cover versions of other artists' hits.
The Saturdays were a five-girl group. They opened for Girls Aloud on their tour. Their first song, "If This Is Love", came out in 2008 and reached number 9 in the UK. Their next song, "Up", reached number five and became their best-selling single.
Their first album, Chasing Lights, was released in 2008 and received good reviews. In 2009, they released "Issues", which peaked at number four. They also released a cover of the Depeche Mode song "Just Can't Get Enough" for Comic Relief 2009. This song reached number two, one of their highest charting singles.
The band then went on their own tour. Their song "Forever Is Over" also reached number two. Their album Wordshaker came out a week later. Their song "Ego" became their second best-selling single. They also released a mini-album called Headlines!, which became their highest-charting album.
In 2011, The Saturdays released their fourth album, On Your Radar. It included the Top 10 song Notorious and the Top 5 song All Fired Up.
In 2012, they released "30 Days" from their fifth album. Their 14th single, "What About Us", became their first number one song in the UK! It was also their highest-selling single ever.

Fascination Records also helped release music in the UK for artists signed to the USA label Hollywood Records.
Fascination Records released the UK songs and albums for the American pop rock group Jonas Brothers. Their first UK song, "SOS", came out in 2008 and reached number 14. Their first UK album also reached the Top 10.
The teen star Miley Cyrus released her first album, Breakout, in the UK with Fascination in 2008. In 2009, she released her album The Time of Our Lives, which included the popular song "Party in the USA".
The star of Camp Rock, Demi Lovato, released her music in the UK with Fascination. Her first UK song was "La La Land". She released her second album, Here We Go Again, in 2009. Her fourth album, Demi, came out in 2013 and reached number 10, with the song "Heart Attack" reaching number 3.
The star of Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena Gomez, and her band released their hit song "Naturally" in 2010. Their album Kiss & Tell came out the following week. The song reached number 7 in the UK, and the album reached number 12.
TV Show Music
Fascination Records also worked on music related to popular TV shows.
Connie Fisher, who won the BBC1 show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, released her first album, Favourite Things, with Fascination in 2006. It reached number 14 on the UK Albums Chart.
Lee Mead, the winner of BBC1's Any Dream Will Do, also signed with Fascination. His first song reached number 2 on the charts. Fascination also released his first album in 2007.
The fictional band Dirty Diegos from the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks also signed with Fascination. They released their first song, "Play", digitally in 2008.
Soundtracks and Collections
Fascination Records released many soundtracks for movies and TV shows, as well as special music collections.
- Mamma Mia! The Movie Soundtrack
The soundtrack for the movie version of the ABBA musical Mamma Mia! was released by Fascination in 2008.
- Britannia High
Fascination worked with ITV1 to release the soundtrack for the TV series Britannia High. This show was like Fame. The main song, "Start of Something", was written by Take That star Gary Barlow.
- Skins
The soundtrack for the Channel 4 drama series Skins was released by this label in 2007.
- St. Trinians
The soundtrack for the movie St. Trinians was released by Fascination in 2007. Girls Aloud sang the theme song for the film. Fascination also released the soundtrack for the sequel, St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold, in 2009. This soundtrack included songs from The Saturdays and Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud.
