Fatigue Mountain is a tall mountain located in Canada. It sits right on the border between two provinces: Alberta and British Columbia. This mountain is part of the Continental Divide, which is like a giant natural line that separates which way rivers flow across a continent.

What is Fatigue Mountain?

Fatigue Mountain reaches a height of 2,950 meters (about 9,678 feet) above sea level. That's almost 3 kilometers high! It's part of the Canadian Rockies, a huge mountain range known for its amazing views and rugged peaks. The mountain's location on the Continental Divide means that rain or snow falling on one side will eventually flow to the Pacific Ocean, while water on the other side will flow towards the Atlantic or Arctic Oceans.

How Did it Get its Name?

The mountain got its interesting name in 1888. A person named W.S. Drewry was the first to climb it. During his journey to the top, he became very tired, or "fatigued." Because of how exhausted he felt, he decided to name the mountain "Fatigue Mountain." It's a unique way to remember the challenge of being the first to reach its summit!

Where is it Located?

Fatigue Mountain is found in a beautiful and wild part of Canada. It's in the Kananaskis Country area of Alberta and the Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park in British Columbia. This region is famous for its stunning landscapes, including glaciers, forests, and lots of wildlife. Even though it's a high mountain, it's not the tallest in the area. A nearby peak called Nasswald Peak is even higher, reaching 3,042 meters.
