The Federated States of Micronesia (often called FSM) is a country made up of many islands in the Pacific Ocean. Athletes from FSM have been part of the Summer Olympic Games since the year 2000. They send their best athletes to compete against people from all over the world. Even though they haven't won any Olympic medals yet, their participation shows great national pride and sportsmanship.
FSM has never competed in the Winter Olympics. This is because the country has a tropical climate, so winter sports like skiing or ice skating are not common there.

The Role of Flag Bearers
At the opening ceremony of each Olympic Games, one athlete from each country carries their national flag. This person is called the flag bearer. It is a great honor to be chosen as the flag bearer for your country. They lead their team into the stadium, representing their nation to the world.
