Fievel's American Tails is an exciting animated TV show from the United States and Canada. It was made by Amblimation, Nelvana, and Universal Cartoon Studios. The show aired on CBS in 1992 for one season. It continued the fun adventures of Fievel Mousekewitz after the movie An American Tail: Fievel Goes West.

Only a few actors from the movie returned for the show. Phillip Glasser voiced Fievel, Dom DeLuise was Tiger, and Cathy Cavadini played Tanya. A cool thing about the show was that it encouraged reading. Often, Fievel would solve problems by reading books! The character also appeared in public messages for a group called Reading Is Fundamental. After many years, NBCUniversal got the rights to the series again in 2020.

Meet the Characters of Fievel's American Tails

Get to know the main characters who make Fievel's adventures so much fun!

  • Fievel Mousekewitz: He's the main hero, a small mouse who loves to find new adventures.
  • Tanya Mousekewitz: Fievel's older sister. She dreams of becoming a famous singer.
  • Yasha Mousekewitz: Tanya and Fievel's baby sister.
  • Papa Mousekewitz: The father of Tanya, Fievel, and Yasha. He's a skilled violin maker and always gives his family good advice.
  • Mama Mousekewitz: The mother of Tanya, Fievel, and Yasha. She's practical and tries to keep her family safe from the bad cats.
  • Tiger: Fievel's best friend! He's a funny and sometimes scared orange tabby cat. Tiger is a vegetarian and often eats fish. He met Fievel in the first movie, An American Tail. Later, he moved west with Fievel's family to Green River, Utah.
  • Cat R. Waul: The main bad guy. He's a fancy cat who is Fievel's enemy.
  • T. R. Chula: Cat R. Waul's sidekick, a tarantula. He's a bit like the famous outlaw Butch Cassidy.
  • Sweet William: Another one of Fievel's enemies.
  • Slim and Feloneous: Sweet William's two not-so-smart alley cat helpers.
  • Miss Kitty: Tiger's girlfriend. She's a character inspired by Dorothy Gibson.
  • Mr. Ironside: The school teacher. He's probably a mole and from Britain.
