The Town of Firestone is a special kind of town called a Statutory Town. It is located in southwestern Weld County, Colorado, in the United States. In 2020, about 16,381 people lived here. This was a big jump in population, showing the town is growing fast! Firestone is also part of a larger area called the Greeley, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor.

History of Firestone
The town of Firestone got its name from Jacob Firestone, who owned land in the area. The town officially became a town in 1908.
Geography of Firestone
Firestone is located at 40°7′53″N 104°56′10″W / 40.13139°N 104.93611°W. This is about 30 miles north of the city of Denver.
In 2020, the town covered an area of about 36.8 square kilometers (about 14.2 square miles). A small part of this area, about 1.7 square kilometers (0.66 square miles), is water.

Firestone is a great place for outdoor activities! It has more than 35 parks where you can play and relax. There are also 12 miles of beautiful trails. The Firestone/Legacy Trail is a long path that follows an old railroad line. This railroad used to be important for the coal industry.

Important Events
In April 2017, an event happened that led to important discussions about energy drilling in Colorado. This incident caused changes in how gas wells are managed in the state.
On June 7, 2021, a strong wind event called an EF-2 tornado touched down in the farmlands near Firestone. It traveled for about 2 miles. Luckily, it caused only minor damage to crops and moved away from the town.
