The Forest of Burzee is a magical fairy-tale land created by L. Frank Baum. He is the famous author who also wrote the stories about the Land of Oz. This special forest is found far away, past the Deadly Desert, on the western edge of the Land of Oz. It's also quite close to a place called Noland.

Baum first mentioned the Forest of Burzee in his 1901 book, American Fairy Tales. But we learn much more about it in his 1902 book, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. This book shows how important Burzee is in Baum's imaginary world. It's home to the Queen of the Wood Nymphs and the Queen of the Fairies. This makes Burzee a very powerful source of magic in Baum's stories.
