Forsyth is a city located in Taney County, Missouri, in the United States. In 2020, about 2,730 people lived there. It is the main city, or county seat, of Taney County. Forsyth is also part of the larger Branson area. You can find Forsyth right on the edge of Lake Taneycomo, along U.S. Route 160.

History of Forsyth
The town of Forsyth has a long history. A post office was opened here way back in 1837. The community was named after John Forsyth. He was an important person who served as the 13th United States Secretary of State.
Geography and Location
Forsyth is located at specific coordinates: 36 degrees, 41 minutes, 12 seconds North and 93 degrees, 6 minutes, 46 seconds West. The city covers a total area of about 2.25 square miles (5.83 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with only a small part being water.

Education in Forsyth
The Forsyth R-III School District is responsible for educating the children in the area. This district runs three different schools:

- Forsyth High School for older students.
Besides the schools, Forsyth also has a place where everyone can borrow books and learn new things. This is the Forsyth Public Library.
