Early Life and Education
François Piétri was born in Bastia, Corsica. His father, Antoine-Jourdan Piétri, was a lawyer and a local councilman. His mother, Clorinde Gavini, was the daughter of a member of the French National Assembly.
Piétri finished school at Collège Stanislas in 1899. After that, he went to university at the École libre des sciences politiques.
In 1906, he joined the French Civil Service. This is a group of people who work for the government. He started as an auditor, which means he checked financial records. He moved up in his career and became the Director of Finances for Morocco. He held this important job from 1917 to 1924.
Political Career
In 1924, Piétri was elected to the French National Assembly. This is like the parliament in other countries, where laws are made. He stayed in this role until 1942. During his time in the National Assembly, he held many different government jobs, showing he was a very active politician.
