The Mystery of Coral Cove
Freddi and Luther are visiting Grandma Grouper. They plan to go to Coral Cove, a fun park in the West African Sea. But when they arrive, they find a big group of sea creatures. Everyone is upset and scared! A sea monster is supposedly terrorizing the park. Even Marty Sardini, who built the park, is worried.
Freddi and Luther decide to help. They want to find out why this sea monster is scaring everyone. First, they need to get into Coral Cove Park. They get a special permission slip signed by the Mayor.
Finding Clues
Inside the park, they find a chunk of green sea cheese. It has a huge bite taken out of it! Freddi and Luther examine it closely. This becomes their first clue to finding the sea monster.
They follow the clues and eventually find the sea monster's cave. Inside, they discover a "to-do list" belonging to the monster. This helps them figure out where he might be hiding. They learn he is lurking in the deepest part of the ocean.
Meeting the Sea Monster
Freddi and Luther finally meet the sea monster. His name is Xamfear Duncan Dogberry Valentine. He tells them a sad story. He says a greedy developer forced him out of Coral Cove Park. Xamfear was scaring the townspeople because they took his home. Luther quickly realizes Xamfear must be talking about Marty Sardini.
Xamfear is about to show Freddi and Luther his deed. This paper would prove he owns the park. But just then, Marty and the townspeople arrive! Marty claims there is no such deed. Xamfear checks where he hid the deed, under a piece of ground. But it's gone! The deed has been stolen. Freddi and Luther also notice that Marty is missing.
Solving the Case
Freddi and Luther sneak into Marty's secret base. They have to dodge some tricky traps. Finally, they find the hidden deed that Marty stole. Marty catches them in his place and calls for security.
Just then, the Mayor and the townspeople show up. Freddi and Luther tell everyone the truth. They reveal that Coral Cove rightfully belongs to Xamfear. The Mayor and the townspeople are very angry with Marty. They arrest him for stealing and causing trouble.
In the end, Marty has to do all the dirty work. Freddi and Luther get the deed signed by Mayor Marlin. The townspeople celebrate! Xamfear allows them all to play in the park again. Freddi and Luther then swim off with Kipper, happy that the mystery is solved.
How to Play
This game uses similar ideas to the earlier Freddi Fish games. It's a "point-and-click" adventure. This means you click on objects and characters to interact with them. The puzzles are straightforward, which means they are not too hard to figure out. Unlike some other games, there aren't many different endings or choices you can make.
One cool thing about this game is a long, side-scrolling screen. This shows a town in the middle of the game world. You can move across it to visit different buildings and characters.
