Friuli-Venezia Giulia is a special region in the northeast of Italy. It sits right on the Adriatic Sea. Its capital city is Trieste. About 1.2 million people live here. This region shares borders with Veneto (another Italian region) to the west. To the north, it borders Austria, and to the east, it borders Slovenia.
