Fusilier Peak is a tall mountain in British Columbia, Canada. It stands 2,747 metres (9,012 ft) (about 9,012 feet) high! This makes it one of the many impressive peaks in the Canadian Rockies.
Fusilier Peak is part of a group of mountains called the Tower of London Range. This range is found within the larger Muskwa Ranges. It is also quite close to Constable Peak, which is another important mountain nearby.
How Fusilier Peak Got Its Name
Fusilier Peak received its name in a very interesting way. It was named by a special group of explorers in 1960. This group was called the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) Canadian Rocky Mountains Expedition.
The Royal Fusiliers were a military regiment, like a special army unit. They were based at the famous Tower of London in England. When they explored the Canadian Rockies, they decided to name several mountains after places and things connected to the Tower of London.
