The Muskwa Ranges are a collection of mountain ranges located in northern British Columbia, Canada. These mountains are a part of the Rocky Mountains, specifically the northern section. To their west, they are bordered by a long valley called the Rocky Mountain Trench. To their east, they meet the lower hills known as the Rocky Mountain Foothills.
The Muskwa Ranges stretch from the Liard River in the north down to the Peace Reach of Williston Lake in the south. This lake was once part of the Peace River. South of the Muskwa Ranges, the next group of Rocky Mountains is called the Hart Ranges.
These ranges cover a large area of about 97,388 square kilometres (37,602 sq mi). They also stretch for about 424 kilometres (263 mi) from north to south.
