In 2009, the Himayatnagar constituency changed, and Reddy then ran for election in the Amberpet Assembly Constituency. He won this election with a large number of votes. He continued to serve as an MLA for Amberpet and as the BJP's Floor Leader in the State Assembly until 2014.

President of State BJP

From 2010 to 2014, Reddy was the BJP State President for Andhra Pradesh. When the state of Telangana was formed, he was chosen as the very first Telangana BJP president, serving from 2014 to 2016.

In 2012, he led a 22-day journey called the "Telangana Poru Yatra." This journey covered about 3500 kilometers through many villages and assembly areas. Its purpose was to highlight the need for a clear decision on the formation of Telangana state.
