Garradunga is a small country area in Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Cassowary Coast Region. In 2021, about 170 people lived there.

Where is Garradunga?
Garradunga is located in northern Queensland. It is just north of a town called Innisfail.
Land Use and Farming
Most of the land in Garradunga is used for growing sugarcane. Some areas are also used for grazing animals. You can also find some houses spread out in the countryside.
Railway History
The North Coast railway line passes through Garradunga. It comes from the south and goes towards the west. There used to be a train station here called Garradunga railway station. However, it is no longer used today.
A Look at Garradunga's Past
The name Garradunga might come from an Aboriginal word. This word means "feasting place on a ridge." This name was used in the area even before the railway station got its name in 1918.
Early Schools and Post Offices
A small school, Garradunga Provisional School, opened around 1902. But it closed later that year because not enough students attended. It tried to reopen in 1903 but closed for good in 1904.
Garradunga also had a post office. It opened on April 1, 1925. Before that, there was a smaller "receiving office" for mail from 1923. There was also an even earlier one between 1901 and 1906.

The number of people living in Garradunga has changed over the years.
