St Andrew's Presbyterian Church is at 149 Goondoon Street. This is actually the second church built on this spot. The first church in Gladstone was built here!

A minister named Alexander Proudfoot arrived in Gladstone in 1865. It took two years to gather enough money to build a church. The first church's foundation stone was laid on 30 October 1867. It was a brick church that could fit 250 people. In 1870, a special marble font was added, made from local marble.

Sadly, the first church was destroyed by a powerful cyclone on 2 March 1949. A new St Andrew's church was built. Its foundation stone was laid on 11 September 1955. Some parts from the old church, like the original foundation stone, were used in the new building.

Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church is at 181-185 Goondoon Street. It has a school right next to it. This is the third Catholic church to be built in Gladstone.

The very first Catholic church in Gladstone opened in 1874. However, the land was later needed for a new railway line. So, a new site was bought to build a church, school, and other buildings. The new church opened on 19 January 1902.

As the community grew, a larger church was needed. The current church was built in 1924. Its foundation stone was laid on 13 April 1924, and it officially opened on 16 November 1924. The older church building was then used as part of the school. In the 1949 cyclone, the convent and school were destroyed, but the church survived.
