Glen is a small place in Aitkin County, Minnesota, United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's not officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area.
Glen is located southeast of the city of Aitkin. You can find it where State Highway 47, Aitkin County Road 12 (Deer Street), and 280th Street all meet. It sits within two different areas called Glen Township and Malmo Township.
Some other places nearby include Malmo, Isle, and Garrison. Glen is also just five miles north of the large and beautiful Mille Lacs Lake.
Exploring Glen's Business Area
Glen has a small area where businesses are located, often called a business district. This area is special because 280th Street acts as a boundary line. It separates Glen Township to the north from Malmo Township to the south.
Most of Glen's businesses, including the well-known Glen Store, are found on the Malmo Township side of this street. The original Glen Store building has been replaced with a newer, modern log building. This store played an important role in the community's history. It served as the local post office for many years, from 1899 until 1954.
