Glenville is a cool neighborhood in the town of Greenwich, located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. It's also known as a "census-designated place," which means it's a special area that the government counts people in for official records. In 2010, about 2,327 people lived here.
Glenville is in the western part of Greenwich, right by the Byram River. This river was super important long ago because its flowing water powered the mills, making Glenville a busy mill village. Today, Glenville is home to Glenville Elementary School, the Western Civic Center, and a volunteer fire station.
Even though Greenwich is one big town, it has several unique neighborhoods. Glenville is one of them, along with places like Banksville, Byram, Cos Cob, Mianus, Old Greenwich, and Riverside. Some of these neighborhoods, like Cos Cob, Old Greenwich, and Riverside, even have their own postal names and ZIP codes.
